lifted: summer & joel...5 years and counting 06.14.08

w o w. last weekend i was blessed to hang out with and take a few pictures of summer and joel. i met them a few months back at another friends house where they approached me and i approached them about doing an "in love" session.  these two are soooo awesome.  they are both from the island of Oahu, Hawaii where they first met at the young age of 16 and have been together ever since...10 years total!  their 5 year wedding anniversary is coming up in july and this seemed like a great opportunity to give them some new photos to add to their 10 year collection.

we all met at my house, piled in my MINI Cooper, extra clothes and all and headed down to to downtown Laguna. a few weeks back i was out to dinner with a friend and she happened to park in this awesome underground parking garage that i knew had a lot of photographic potential...it was just a matter of finding a couple who would be willing to hang out in a hot, sticky, dirty parking garage for almost an hour...enter summer and joel.

let me just say, these two were troopers! after the nasty parking garage, we drove further north, parked and just walked around to see what we could find. we ended up shooting for around 3 hours and by the time the sun went down, we were all yawning and could hear our tummies rumbling. summer and joel were gracious enough to take me out to sushi after the shoot where we devoured an enormous amount of raw fish and learned that we have some mutual friends in common...small world.

i think there are over 30 pictures in this post and it's still not enough to show you everything! we had such a blast and the hardest part was finding the right shots to share with everyone. i already posted a few teaser images last week but these are all new ones.

summer and joel, thanks again for your time and allowing me to add these awesome photos to my portfolio!  i had so much fun just hanging out with you guys and it proved a great learning experience for me and my camera.

*side note: summer was excited about her new red shoes so look out for them in these photos.

These are fantastic, Josh! They're so fun! The one with the number 5 on the street was very clever. Oh, and she definitely does love her red shoes...as should she. They're hot.
